Lecturer and researcher at ESADE Business School.
His areas of interest are geopolitical thinking and globalization studies, business ethics and economic sociology.

Besides his academic work at ESADE, he has been visiting professor or guest lecturer in different universities and usually presents his research at conferences around the world. He is also a regular contributor to mass media and academic publications.

With a past working experience in the financial, public and non-profit sectors, David Murillo has developed consultancy and advisory tasks to several public institutions in Spain (like the Ministry of Industry or the Catalan Governemt) and for international institutions like the UNDP or UNIDO (United Nations) or the American Development Bank (IDB); in addition to a large number of companies.

His recent publications include “The Right to Operate Business Schools: Responsibilization and Resistance published in the Journal of Business Ethics” (2015) and “From Walmart to Al Qaeda. An interdisciplinary approach to globalization” (2015), published by Greenleaf Publishing and translated into Catalan (Editorial Barcino, 2015) and Spanish (Libros de Cabecera 2015). This last work has received the Bronze Medal Winner 2016 of the Axiom Business Book Award, in the category “International Business/Globalization” in 2016.
